The Route du Rhum is back in 2026.

Held every four years, this legendary solo transatlantic race sends sailors across the Atlantic single-handed, from Brittany to Guadeloupe. This year, 118 skippers will set off from Saint-Malo on 1 November, bound for Pointe-à-Pitre. The fastest are expected to arrive from 6 November onwards.
As they round Guadeloupe, the boats should pass close to shore to catch the sea breeze and shorten their course.

Bouillante and the Côte-sous-le-Vent are among the best vantage points to watch them go by.
